The climate of San Francisco is mild. The city is we during the winter seasons and goes dry during the summer season. In some months, the temperature gets as high as 50 -60 degrees or it can get very low to 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

During the summer, there will be light fog in the mornings, and this will gradually turn windy in the afternoons. Precipitation is rare, but sometimes, there may be a light drizzle. Humidity in the city is constant but never uncomfortable.

The winter comes with constant rain in the city, but sometimes, there will be a day of calm and no-wind experience. Spring and fall don't take a defined period, and they are always very nice in San Francisco especially the fall.

When to go to San Francisco

You can visit San Francisco all year round but the best months should September, October, and November. These months are when the city experiences a very warm temperature and also gets very few visits from tourists. You can also target the spring because the temperature is also mild around this time and the rainfall is gone. This is also the best time to visit because of the sun, surfing and sand to play around in the city.

How to get there

The City has three international airports "San Francisco International" which is amongst the largest airports in the whole world. The airport lies 16 kilometers in the southern part of the city. The Airport has many passenger amenities which includes drinks and food establishments, baggage storage, shopping, public showers, a medical clinic, and others. The other two airports are the "Oakland International" at the East where Southern airlines operate to some destinations in the U.S, Scandinavia, and Mexico. The "Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International" at the South travels to long distance countries like Tokyo, London, China, Frankfurt, and Beijing.

From the Oakland and San Francisco International, you can take the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) to get to downtown. As you arrive, you can either walk for five minutes or enter the airport shuttle to get to the station. From Oakland, you can also take a train to the BART. However, if you arrive at San Jose, you can enter the city by following Caltrain which is known as the "Airport Flyer."
You can also take a private taxi from the airports into the city, but the fares are higher than the public transport. Other options are the bus, renting a car or by boat if you are up for it.
